The Gurutuba’ s Canyon, is located in the south of São Paulo. It is a limestone canyon and it is huge. This canyon has 18 abseilings with a lot of water. The bigger abseiling, has 60 meters hight and ends up in a big swimming pool. This canyon has many vertical technics because it is extremely vertical. This place is in the midle of the atlantic forest, which is the main forest in Brazil. Is possible to  watch different species of animals such as monkeys, birds, etc. It is also possible to see many different plants like orquídeas, poison plants and bromelias, very typical of the Atlantic Forest.  To arrive at this canyon, there is a 10 minutes walk from the place is left the car. At the arrival on the canyon, the fun is started by the wet part, and of course the best part. The first water fall is very, very beautiful, there are many abseilings (one after the other), until the stretch gorge. In this point, the gorge is very cold and a good wet suit is necessary, 5 or 7 mm is recommendable. At this part is when the sport meets the wild water, there is the first abseling to get inside the gorge and to arrive on a swimming pool, which is necessary to cross swimming to the other side. There, the anchor points are searched, and the most difficult part of this canyon starts. Under this waterfall, there is an eddy and undercut, with a strong water flow. On this part, canyoners have to swim fast and climb one little and slippery stone, where  the other anchor point can be found. Is recommendable doing the guide rapel for the next canyoners. And don’t stay too long on this point, because there is a lot of wind, and is very cold. Is not possible to see many things there because there are many water particles on the air. The next abseiling, seems to be very large, but it has only 6 meters, and finishes at the dry stones behind the waterfall. At this point canyoners should walk to the cave on the left side, and wait for their colleagues. The next step, is still inside the gorge, it is necessary to be very attentive. There is a big waterfall, with 60 meters, and there is a banister, for your approximation. At the final of this abseiling, there is a big swimming pool again, but  it finishes  at the middle of the water so is not possible to see too much. At this place, every stop you do, woods and stones you step on, and many other things are possible to make someone stuck. Pay attention, because there are eddies at the same place. Cross the swimming pool, and get out of the gorge. Now  the more open part starts, but it is also a confined part. The sun arrives on the canyon, and now is possible, to warm up yourself. At this point there are many places to swim, and beautiful views to watch. Some more steps, and  other waterfalls start with a lot of abseling, more abseling and more abseiling. All of them with different sizes and different degrees of difficulty but always with a lot of water. At the end of this canyon, to search the descent walk to the left side and  go up the hill. Walk 1 hour and half more and soon the place where the car was left is achieved. Time to go back home feeling yourself as different person.
